Maxillary sinus elevation for insertion of implants. Above the roots of the upper molars there is a cavity full of air, called the maxillary sinus. Upon extraction of the upper molars, the bone is resuscitated with time, and the maxillary sinus descends, tends to occupy the place of the roots of the upper molars extracted. In order to insert implants, we need a proper height and thickness of the bone, which disappears as the maxillary sinus descends to the root of the extracted teeth. This height and thickness is obtained by the maxillary sinus lift operation and then insertion of implants of a length long enough to be resistant in time.
